Background Checks – Swindled when relocating?

If you have ever moved from one place to another and either had to rely on renting or buying an appartment you know how hard it can be sometimes. If you live far away you may not have the possibility to actually come to check out the place beforehand and maybe the competition to get the few appartments up for rent is so fierce that you just had to say yes to the first opening there was. If you have ever gone down that route you most likely also had to pay a deposit to reserve the appartment.
…Enter; SCAM.
Lately there has been several appartments for rent on craiglist and other places in places where such appartments are hard to find or in some cases the advertisers have set a price so low that it would be impossible to say no to such a great offer. Think again. They tell you make a three month deposit and once you have done what they say; all your money are lost. They have used stolen id’s to create bank accounts in the name of other people, they take your money along with hundreds of others, cash out and run away with your money.
These guys are notorious criminals and it is rare that this is the first time they do things like this and they are usually convicted in the past.
If you fear that you are being swindled, take control of your fear and channel it to find out where any holes are and plug them. I know free online criminal background checks sound great – but in the end, they are never free. Always read the fine print. You would be better off finding a straight forward service and not one that hides in the fine print. You will wind up paying less money for information that is up to date. You deserve to be protected, so be proactive. Make sure you use a good service like the one linked in the Free Criminal Background Checks article and you should be on the safe side. Best of luck.
